Stop The War protests, London

It's weird - I'm quite reluctant to convert colour shots to b&w these days. Something about it seems so fake and unnatural, and I guess it is. I think this shot actually looks better in b&w though..

Anyway - it's great to see someone make an effort with their placard and not simply walk around with the usual anti-Bush/Blair ones like every other person..
I wonder how many people read the entire thing though.

Absolutely. B&W was a good choice.
Yep you are right B&W is better.
so freacking better in b&w... as always!
very good portrait actualy! would have been fun to cut the upper part of his head, including only the nose, and including his feet. wierd.. but fun and more original I think!
One look tells you that, that face belongs to a REAL person.

i don't think its fake. The way of doing things has changed. In the past you would have had to make the decision. Now we can use computers and work with images to see what looks best. It's a great freedom, and it looks great with this photo.
ooooh. this is a really nice portrait. i love his eyes. this has some really nice tones. congrats.

It would have been hard to get that with the 100mm lens that I was using, but yeah, that would have been more 'original' I suppose! Then again, he has such a unique face - it would be a shame not to include it!
I also think it looks better in b&w, I think it helps add meaning to the words and person.

me loves it! actually I love your whole protest series:)

as for the b&w someone wrote: "If you're photographing in color you show the color of their clothes - if you use black and white, you will show the color of their soul. "

cheers;)
Great work over the past few weeks. Just a quick question - is that a 100mm prime you are using?
